The spiritual journey is not an easy one, and sometimes it can feel very lonely. The following is an alphabetical list of resources that have guided and supported me on my journey. This is not an exhaustive list.

BOOKS

A Course in Miracles, 1976. (No author) 

The text and workbook were scribed (channeled) by Helen Schucman and are a self-study guide to Oneness. This is not a read-it-and-done book; this is a course that many study for years.

Awakened Empath, by Luna & Sol, 2017.

A guidebook for empaths. Luna & Sol explain the types of empaths, the good and bad of being an empath, how to work with the ability, and the spiritual aspects of being an empath. This is the first book I read about empaths. It helped me tremendously.

The Book of Joy, His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmund Tutu with Douglas Abrams, 2016.

An amazing book filled with the energy of Love and Light that is these two amazing men. Together they provide insight on how to live in Joy, no matter the circumstances.

The Empath’s Survival Guide, by Judith Orloff, MD, 2017. 

Judith Orloff, MD is a medical doctor and an empath. She discusses what it means to be an empath, the effects it can have on all aspects of one’s life, and how to live and thrive as an empath.

Journey of Souls, by Michael Newton, PhD, 1994.

Dr. Michael Newton was regressing a client with hypnotherapy and stumbled into the time between her lives, her time in the spirit world. This book - the first of three - presents case histories, transcripts, and Dr. Newton’s discussion of the times between lives, when we review our former life, continue our growth, and prepare for the next life. A life-changing book.

The Leap, by Steve Taylor, 2017.

Steve Taylor is a psychologist who has done extensive research on “awakening". He explains the ways people awaken, the effects of awakening, and compares different traditions’ beliefs about awakening.

Mutant Message Down Under, by Marlo Morgan, 1994.

An American woman is transformed after an unplanned 1400-mile walk through the Outback with an Aboriginal tribe. The story is based on the real experience of the author.

The Power of Now, Eckhart Tolle, 2010.

Famous author, famous book. How to move out of the ego and into Oneness.

Secrets of the Lost Mode of Prayer, by Gregg Braden, 2006.

Honestly, anything by Gregg Braden is enlightening! This is a “how to” book about REAL prayer based on ancient texts from many spiritual traditions, including Christianity, Buddhism, and native America.

The Untethered Soul, by Michael A. Singer, 2007. 

A transformative guide that takes the reader through their thoughts, emotions, and consciousness, and eventually to a life of freedom.

Walking in Light, by Sandra Ingerman, 2014.

Shamanism is presented as a way of life, a journey into one’s inner self, and an odyssey into other realms. Meet spirit guides and learn how to live in harmony with nature and Spirit.

What If This Is Heaven? by Anita Moorjani, 2016.

Dying from cancer, Anita Moorjani had a near-death experience and came back with amazing truths learned in the other realm. This book is about the destructive cultural myths we believe about ourselves and how they affect our lives.

Why People Don’t Heal and How They Can, Caroline Myss, Ph.D., 2013.

Caroline Myss is the queen of healing. A medical intuitive, she explains why some people don’t want to heal. Learn what might be preventing healing and how to heal - physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

The Wisdom of the Shamans: What the Ancient Masters Can Teach Us About Love and Life, by don Jose Ruiz, 2019.

Don Jose Ruiz comes from a long line of shamans in the Toltec tradition. Using stories passed down from generation to generation, don Jose Ruiz teaches that each of us is Divine, and the answers are within us.

You Are Special, by Max Lucado, 1997. Children’s book.

Although this is a children’s book, the spiritual lesson is important for all of us: you are special, just as you are. Beautifully written and illustrated. Wonderful gift for the special little people in your life.
